Introduction

The Sotheby’s International Realty: France & Monaco ‘Castles, Cars & Art De Vivre’ Rally is a one of a kind event. It is a truly unique and authentic displace of the Cote D’Azur lifestyle. Starting in Monte-Carlo, the Head Office and home of Chairman and CEO Alexander Kraft, and following the French Riviera to stunning locations such as Nice, St Tropez and Cap Martin before heading into the Provencal countryside.

Adesso were invited back by Alexander for the second time to capture the event and its spectacular moments. The Adesso team joined the rest of the Rally crew, including notable names from the luxury lifestyle industries such as; Thibault of ‘Historiques Auto’, Alberto of ‘Car & Vintage’ and any more, all fresh from flights inbound from around the globe. The full group was assembled in the heart of Monaco where key members of the Kraft car collection flanked each direction of the Place de Casino.

Day One

This year, the Rally coincided with the launch party of the flagship ‘Alexander Kraft Monte Carlo’ shop on Saint-Michel, Monaco. Guests from around the world joined for an evening of fine menswear, negronis, Billecart-Salmon champagne, cigars and the greatest pizza delivery in a vintage Fiat Jolly. The night ended in Hotel Hermitage for a moments rest before an early start and day one of the rally.

Day Two

The day started with breakfast at the Hotel Hermitage, after a short but sweet night for all guests. We left Monte Carlo in the exquisite fleet of cars around 10am, heading towards the coast around Monaco to visit two extraordinary properties in the region, stopping off at each to take in the design, interiors and unmatchable views across the Cote d’Azur. Around 2pm, the rally gravitated towards an informal but elegant lunch at the legendary beachside restaurant Loulou Pirate.

After lunch, the pack headed into the countryside to Alexander’s personal estate in the Haut Var region to relax. After a morning of driving vintage cars in the hot sun, the estate's vast amenities array of pools, a spa, a tennis court and private grounds made for the perfect haven.

The light dropped and dressed to the nines, we left for cocktails and dinner at La Maison Bleue, Alexander’s hotel & restaurant in Ampus, with a stretching terrace overlooking the village square before heading back to rest before another day of Castles, Cars and Art D’Vivre.

Day Three

Waking up to the sound of fountains and bird chirping, the dawn of day two had arrived. Replenished and prepared, fuelled with fresh croissants and strong coffee, we made a prompt departure from the Kraft estate to visit two exceptional properties in the Saint Tropez region. Each property demonstrating true luxury from swimming pool to bedrooms and everything in between.

In between the two signature villas offered for sale by Sotheby’s International Realty France & Monaco, we took a long lunch on the terrace of the legendary ‘Le Sénéquier’ in St Tropez and soaked in the unique atmosphere.

After more winding roads, blissful scenery and the sound of eight vintage engines carrying our group, we checked into the legendary "La Bastide de Saint-Tropez", an elegant Mediterranean home. Far from the summer crowds, this marvellous mansion with its four converted Provençal farmhouses invites you to unwind in the heart of its paradisiacal park full of exotic fragrances.

After relaxation at the hotel, we assembled in full black-tie attire for an al-fresco, dinner, cocktails and cigars at a very special venue; “the signature villa”, designed by Stephanie Coutas. The crew enjoyed an elevated BBQ dinner, by caterers MD Traiteur; who cooked on the open fire with incredible theatre. Significant levels of Billecart-Salmon champagne stocks were depleted, ash piled high from Alexander Kraft x EGM cigars and black-ties were generously loosened as we slipped well into the evening of day two.

Day Four

After breakfast on the terrace of La Bastide, the pack began to pack up and head back to their corners of the globe after this truly unique and magnificent event. For us, the UK called, but not before one final drive in the fleet consisting of a 1968 Aston Martin DB6, a 1987 Porsche Carrera Targa, a Ferrari 550 Maranello as well as a selection of vintage & brand new, high-end Bentleys.

Passports and boarding passes at the ready, our tired but exchillerated team headed for the departure lounge. It was a harsh reality when the following Monday came around, not least trying to digest the signifiant editing session that would now take place.

Here, we share some snippets of this four-day extravaganza of Castles, Cars and Art D’Vivre. It remains a pleasure to be repeatedly appointed by Alexander Kraft–better known in our office as our Honorary Chairman–across his companies.

On y va!
