Brand Identity

The Project

“Dun Aluinn is a grand Victorian house refreshingly filled with design finds including a zingy orange Patricia Urquiola sofa and a sleek Italian Art Deco drinks cabinet rather than the usual tartan and hunting trophies”. Conde Nast Traveller.

Working with the team at U&I Group who act as commercial advisor to Dun Aluinn, we were appointed to brand Dun Aluinn in a way that reflected the experience a guest has when at staying at the house.

Dun Aluinn is a contemporary, design-led hideaway that retains many original period features from the Victorian building it started as. It is situated against on an elevated site within 5.5 acres of private grounds with a sweeping terrace offering stunning views down the Tay Valley to one of Scotland’s most famous mountains, Schiehallion.

While feeling cosy and homely, despite its splendour, a hotel is not the way to describe it. John and Susie, owners of Dun Aluinn prefer to describe it as an exclusive-use house sleeping eighteen guests with a private butler on hand to let guest switch off.

Given its location, Dun Aluinn has plenty to offer from walking and hiking, fly fishing, golfing and sailing. Just a few miles down the road is Ballintaggart, a family run business focusing on providing guests with high-quality and memorable dining experiences. When staying at Dun Aluinn, guests can enjoy an immersive farm-to-table dining experience and bespoke catering options during their stay.

“The brand now reflects the atmosphere of Dun Aluinn.”

New Franco’s Wordmark

Dun Aluinn previously had a basic website which was not optimised or designed in a way that respected the true atmosphere of the house. As a part of our rebranding process, we picked out a colour palette to set the tone and utilised this to zone the website. We produced new content during our several visits up to Dun Aluinn and ensured that a lifestyle tone ran through the core direction. Collectively the new assets and brand, a revitalised website and clear direction has been well received by both our client and the wider community.

As a part of their appointment, the team at U&I Group placed Dun Aluinn as the final location for the Robb Report 2024 Car of the Year event. After a few nights in the Cotswolds, the guests enjoyed the drive up in a range of Aston Martin’s and Bentley’s before staying at Dun Aluinn. During their stay, guests enjoyed food from Ballintaggart, excursions to Gleneagles and brand experiences with Linn Audio, Macallan and Johnstons of Elgin. Adesso were invited up for the weekend to capture the event for Robb Report.
